Scope

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://syngeon.eu including the English language version https://syngeon.eu/en/.

Compliance status

The website is partially compliant with the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 as well as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
Non-accessible content is listed in the section Non-accessible content.

Accessibility evaluation

The evaluation of the website was carried out by:

  • Automated tests using WAVE (Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool)

  • Manual tests (screen reader simulation, keyboard navigation, structural check)

Non-accessible content

The following content is not, or only partially, accessible:

  1. Alternative texts for images (WCAG 1.1.1)

    • The language switcher flags are without alt text.

  2. Heading hierarchy (WCAG 1.3.1)

    • Headings are not always logically structured (several H3 directly in sequence without an H2 level). This is important for the content.

  3. Link purpose in context (WCAG 2.4.4)

    • Some links (e.g. language switcher, tile links) lack meaningful visible text or ARIA labeling.

  4. Contrast & focus indicators (WCAG 1.4.3 / 2.4.7)

    • Partially insufficient color contrast and not consistently visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation (WAVE indications).
      The light blue color is a corporate color and cannot be changed for the headlines.

  5. External links (WCAG 3.2.5)

    • Links that open in new tabs/windows are not consistently marked as such. This is machine-related.

Reason for non-accessible content

The adaptation of the website is carried out gradually. Some content and templates are maintained separately with WPML.
